Hello, fellow GMC members!
The phrase “I can’t believe it’s December!” is used almost daily in my household, and I chuckle inside when I hear fellow Board members verbalize the same in our monthly calls. This year certainly did fly by quicker than most recent years, but I feel that is a great sign as we start to dive back into a rhythm of normalcy.
The GMC Board had a busy year focusing on our standout initiatives, such as the Certification Study Group Program and Mentorship Program. Both programs have had impressive success stories since their respective launches, and this year was no different. There is still time to sign up if you are interested in joining either of these programs in 2024. Should you have any questions, please send an email to info@gmcapmp.org. Information is also posted on our website: www.gmcapmp.org
In addition, the GMC Board put renewed focus on our members-at-large involvement. We looked for ways to give back more to our members, increase membership involvement in initiatives, and allow for more networking through member-led meet-ups. This year we held our first Town Hall for all chapter and Board members to have an open dialogue in a virtual setting. We also held two New Member Orientations to introduce resources, Board members, and show new members all that APMP has to offer. Both new initiatives proved successful with hopes on continuing.
As we close out this year, I’d like to thank our 2023 GMC Board members for all their time, talent, and overwhelming effort they put into making this Chapter a success. It is oftentimes difficult to remember these roles are volunteer based. The dedication this team puts into ensuring our members receive above and beyond what most professional societies offer their members is nothing short of incredible. As Alexa Ramsey takes the helm for 2024, I know GMC and its members have a bright future ahead.
May you and your families have a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous new year ahead!
Megan
